Nam Le wins 2008 Dylan Thomas Prize
Nam Le, the Vietnamese born author won the £60,000 2008 Dylan Thomas Prize sponsored by University of Wales. The winner was announced at an awards dinner at the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea by the chairman of the judges Peter Florence with Dylan's daughter Aeronwy making the presentation. Dylan Thomas Prize 2010
From 2010 the Prize becomes an annual affair with increased internationla presence. The launch was in Boston on St David's Day exactly sixty years after Dylan gave the first ever reading of Under Milk Wood also in the same US city. The £30,000 ($45,000) prize is awarded to the best work by an author under 30 and will include books of poetry, fiction, plays. It is sponsored by the University of Wales.
