Look-alike Challenge Guidelines:

Choose the age of Dylan you’re representing – speak for him, become him

The preliminary round of the Me and Dylan Down the Ups Look-Alike Challenge will begin at 7.30pm and the final 7.30pm in The Uplands Tavern on two consecutive evenings 26 and 27 October 2009. Look-alikes must compete in the preliminary round in order to be eligible for the final on Tuesday.

Pre-register by mail or email is recommended, as space is limited to 50 contestants a night. Use the entrance form, complete information and post it along with the registration fee. On the day of the challenge, check in at the registration table near the door at The Uplands Tavern. All challengers receive a "Challenger" Me and Dylan Down the Ups Look-alike goody-bag. If not pre-registered, you could sign up prior to the preliminary round at The Uplands Tavern if space is available.

Although the challenge doesn't begin until 7.30pm, Monday and Tuesday, some spectators and challengers may arrive early. Remember that there will be a lot of people in and around the Upland Tavern, there's no reserved seating and television crews might be there jostling for the best camera angle! Basically it could be chaotic, so please be patient.

Challengers will be called up on stage in groups of three, in alphabetical order, and introduced to the audience. Challengers will have 30 seconds to convince the judges and audience that they are Dylan. Challengers participating agree to allow their image to be used by Dylan Down the Ups and media and grant photo release (you must sign talent release form).

Approximately twelve finalists will be chosen on Monday to advance to the final round on Tuesday. Finalists will be announced and challengers will be asked to come forward.

On Tuesday, finalists will be called up one at a time and given 95 seconds (one second for every year since Dylan was born!) to present themselves to the judges.

The group will be narrowed down to five finalists. The five finalists will be announced one at a time and have two minutes to speak. The winner of Me and Dylan Down the Ups 2009 will be named from this group.

Judging is handled in the first year by Dylan Down the Ups and in following years will include former Look-alike winners.

All Look-alikes arrive in The Uplands Tavern. Many entrants may have experience of this type of challenge, so be prepared for competition. Some might bring their own supporters, others might try to bribe the judges! Most challengers might admit (confidentially) that they may not win but they’ll have a go.

Cancellations: For challengers who have pre-registered and do not participate in the challenge, entry fee will not be returned

Model Release/Talent Consent

TESTIMONIAL RELEASE

For good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged,

I hereby agree as follows:

1. I hereby consent to and authorize the use by Dylan Down the Ups, its respective licensees, successors, assigns, and all persons acting with its permission (the "Licensed Parties"), the right to use, publish and copyright my name, voice, testimonial statement, picture and likeness in all media and types of advertising and promotion for Dylan Down the Ups.

2. I agree that all photographs of me used and taken by the Licensed Parties are owned by them and that they may copyright the photographs. If I should receive any print, negative or other copy thereof, I will not authorize its use by anyone else.

3. I agree that no advertisement or other material need be submitted to me for any further approval and the Licensed Parties will not be liable to me for any distortion or illusionary effect resulting from the publication of my picture or likeness.

4. I warrant and represent that I have not previously authorized (which authority is still in effect), nor will I authorize or permit, the use of my name, voice, testimonial statement, picture, and likeness in connection with the advertising or promotion of any business that is competitive to Dylan Down the Ups.

5. I further agree that the Licensed Parties will have the right to attribute my testimonial statement (or edited or paraphrased statements that have substantially the same meaning) to me, which is an expression of my personal experience and belief

6. Nothing herein will constitute any obligation on the Licensed Parties to make any use of any of the rights set forth herein.

7. I understand that the Licensed Parties will act in reliance on this consent and release, and accordingly I hereby declare it to be irrevocable; and I hereby release and discharge the Licensed Parties from any and all claims whatsoever in connection with their lawful use of my name, voice, testimonial statement, picture, and likeness described herein.
