The Coal Shed
Everything was coal fired in the early 20th century and coal would
be delivered in 1cwt (112lbs) sacks by the coalman each week.
One of the maid's tasks would be to fill the coal scuttles for each
room from the coal shed. The coal shed also held a fascination for
a very young Dylan Thomas.
